Energy. It’s in short supply. More people wanting to do more things places a greater demand on the remaining resources. So what’s a person to do?
Finding a better, greater source of energy is the way to go. But, we know there’s only a finite amount available on planet Earth. The logical conclusion then is to relocate to a place on Earth where energy is abundant and demand is low.
History shows this to be a very frequent recourse. Alexander and the Greeks gobbled up all in their path to gain resources. Romans took domination to a new height during their glory days. The Huns and Mongols swept out of the steppes searching for provisions. Europeans blew into the Americas as if there were no end to the abundance.
Yet, this is where we’re left. We’re in a world economy where corporations and distributors have spread their logos all across the world. Few, if any, places exist where energy is abundant while human population is low.
An individual looking for abundant energy would want to be near the equator for optimum supply of energy from the sun. They’d want to be well away from cities that demand so much. But then they’d be away from the standard of living that only cities have.
Where then is that perfect location at the end of the rainbow that harbours all the energy a person needs but without the competition from other consumers? Where oh where indeed?
